Scholarships Awarded:

The are two scholarships awarded each year.

-  The Financial Need / Academic & Achievement Scholarship of $1000.00

-  The Academic Leadership Excellence Scholarships of $1500.00 (Four (4) scholarships to be awarded)

Eligibility Requirements:

One-year scholarships are awarded to qualified applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

 

• A full-time student pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree at an accredited institution and a member of the South Carolina National Guard (SCNG) or a dependent of an active or retired member (20 years) of the SCNG. Dependents of deceased members may also apply.

• Applicant must be enrolled in at least 12 semester hours for Fall and Spring. 

• Full-time student pursuing a Graduate Degree who is a member of the SCNG (Self-Sponsor). Dependents are not eligible under the Graduate Degree Program.

• Scholarship recipients may re-apply yearly (for a maximum of four (4) scholarships). 

• Applicants who receive an appointment to one of the U.S. Service Academies (or affiliated preparatory schools) or are awarded a full scholarship at any accredited U.S. post-secondary institution of higher education are not eligible to receive funds from the SCNGF. 

 

GPA Requirements: 

• For the Financial Need / Academic & Achievement Scholarship of $1000.00, applicants must have a 2.5 or higher GPA.

• For the Academic Leadership Excellence Scholarships of $1500.00, applicants must have at least a 3.5 GPA. Only four (4) Academic Leadership Excellence Scholarships are awarded.
