South Carolina National Guard Foundation Increases Academic Scholarships in 2019.

SNGF Awards Banquet.
SCNGF Awards Banquet was held at The Palmetto Club in June 8.

The South Carolina National Guard Foundation (SCNGF) is pleased to announce 75 recipients will be awarded at a scholarship luncheon to be held Saturday, June 8 at 11:00 a.m. at the Capitol City Club in Columbia, South Carolina.

“On behalf of the Foundation, we are honored to fund these scholarships to 75 deserving students,” said Brigadier General (Ret) Thad Myers, president of the Foundation. “We had a record number of applicants this year and funding would not be possible without the generous support from Foundation donors, and especially the National Guard Association of South Carolina and the South Carolina Military Family Care Association.”

The SCNGF serves all members of the South Carolina Army and Air National Guard, Veterans and their Families. Established in 1989, the SCNGF began with a sole purpose to fund scholarships. Today, the Foundation funds diverse programs to support the military, Guard members, their Families, and survivors in addition to continuing to provide scholarships. In 2018, 100% of funds raised were placed back in the hands of South Carolina National Guard members and their Families.

There are approximately 10,000 Service Members in the South Carolina National Guard. By providing the assistance they need, South Carolina National Guard members can remain focused on serving the citizens of our great state of South Carolina and around the world.
